If you’re considering starting your own event, consider these 3 event planning fails that you have to be aware of. If your event sucks, then your visitors will only remember you for one thing – failing.

How You Should Plan an Event Effectively:

If you’re determined to go ahead with running your own conference, the there are a few things that you should cover to make sure that your event has the bare minimum.

Depending on the type of customer you’re looking to attract, you’ll want to include a few things to make sure your event runs smoothly and proves to be a success.

Fail No 1 – Repetitive Entertainment:

It’s perfectly normal for event planners to include a form of entertainment at a conference. It’s a great way to keep your audience engaged and encourages participation.

However, getting that entertainment wrong by having the same thing year on year will only have a negative effect.

Fail No 2 – Poor or No Wi-Fi:

It’s also a great way to encourage the social presence of your event. Include Wi-Fi and create a hash tag for attendees to use when tweeting and sharing content on social media.

Fail No 3 – Lack of Information:

Let’s take a look at an example. You’re planning an event and you create a basic plan of action on Powerpoint or a similar alternative.

What’s the one thing that any attendee will look for?

  • Where the event will take place
  • How long its going to run for
  • Who the speakers are
  • Is there any food or entertainment
  • Am I going to be able to get copies of the documents

If you cant provide answers and details to those points then you’re in trouble. Make sure that you cover absolutely everything that your clients and visitors might want to access.
